IQNA – Recent riots and terrorist incidents have caused the Islamic Republic of Iran’s International Quran Competition to be postponed, a veteran Quran activist noted.

Ali Akbar Toupchi

On the other hand, Ali Akbar Toupchi said in an interview with IQNA, the holy month of Ramadan is ahead of us, and therefore the Quranic community should think about preparing a set of programs to replace this void and make the Quranic programs of Ramadan as fruitful as possible.

The recent terrorist incidents have once again exposed the hostility of global arrogance towards the foundations of religious ideas, he said, noting that if this process had occurred due to any economic, political, or social issues and problems, it would not have targeted the sanctity of the Quran, and holy sites and places.

Attacks on sanctities, while bitter, also sent a clear message to the people, especially teenagers and young people, who in such circumstances may make unwise decisions due to some poisonous propaganda by the enemies, he stated.

The message is that when the enemy desecrates the Quran to achieve sinister goals and intentions, their plot will backfire and return to them, based on Verse 54 of Surah Al-Imran, Toupchi stated.

He praised the millions of people who attended rallies condemning the terrorist attacks and acts of desecration and said, “People have always shown that they have the necessary intelligence and insight in the critical areas of the Islamic Revolution and can neutralize the enemies’ plots.

Elsewhere in his remarks, the veteran Quran teacher noted that the recent terrorist incidents and the prevailing atmosphere in the country caused the 42nd International Quran Competition of the Islamic Republic of Iran to be postponed to another time.

It is natural that every year the Islamic world’s gaze turns to Islamic Iran as the organizer of one of the most influential international Quran events, and therefore its failure to hold it creates a void that must be filled by the responsible institutions, he said.

Fortunately, the upcoming month of Ramadan is approaching, he said, adding that, it is upon Quranic institutions and organizations to take special measures to honor the Holy Quran during the holy month of Ramadan.

In this way, the wound caused by the recent attack on the Quran, which has been imprinted on the hearts of Muslims, will be largely healed, and the void created by the failure to hold the international Quran competition at the expected time will be compensated.
